Forrest City Medical Center uses ultrasound as a painless, non-invasive way to diagnose a variety of diseases and conditions without the use of radiation, making this a widely used procedure during pregnancy. Sometimes called sonography, ultrasounds bounce high-frequency sound waves off the body to produce a real-time picture of the internal structures including organ formation, movement and blood flow.

Forrest City Medical Center offers a 3D ultrasound machine that provides parents with a detailed view of the fetus in the womb. With this technology, your doctors not only determine the gender, developmental age and overall health of your baby, but parents also get an incredible view of their baby like none other.

Ultrasounds are offered by Women’s Diagnostic Services, located on the second floor in the Imaging Department adjacent to the ER Waiting Area.
